Catch up Time!

We hiked Timoanogos Cave with our friends, the Wilsons in June - There was a huge thunder and lightning storm as we were in the cave, and it downpoured as we waited to go down the trail. We made it with 8 kids under 9, as we neared the bottom, search and rescue units were going up to rescue the others.
Scott had his 20 year high school reunion - he played in the basketball game against rivals Pine View High - they won!
We ripped our downstairs bathroom out and it has been sitting all summer waiting to be finished (it is being worked on while I type - yahoo!)
Booger boy! Jake had his first pine wood derby - he took the place by storm with this "Night Rider" car - and he didn't get last place, somewhere in the middle (his buddy Austin's car was last, wheel problems)
Easter came and went
Rachel was in a beautiful ballet - and had a leading roll (it took about 10 seconds)
Zack played tee ball for the first time - according to him, they won every game!
My work wanted to send some originals home with me, this is why I don't do that.....Tyler helps Mom work.

Happy Birthday Rachel!

Rachel didn't want a cake, she wanted pumpkin pie and whip cream....not quite in season at Costco, so she wanted her next favorite dessert.....apple crisp

Note: candles will melt when placed in a hot pan of apple crisp!

Can you tell I have gotten a little lazy about the fabulous theme birthday cakes? Here, have a cupcake! Fun ballerina birthday party.

There was a lot of dancing, and a lot of pretty tutus and leotards. Rachel has been wanting ballet lessons since we moved to Utah, that is what she got with some new ballet shoes and leotard. She was so excited.

Yes......Tyler has mastered sitting up.

Tyler is sitting up great now, and enjoying every minute of it. He loves to take his shoes and socks off, and we often find him just like this, sucking on his sock.

Now I am wishing I would have gotten a picture of Tyler the other day when he fell asleep sitting up. He got so tired, he layed his head down on his feet and fell asleep (poor kid, sometimes we forget to check on him because he doesn't really fuss very much).

The Santa Cruz moms

Woowoa! who's kids are all of these!

Hard to believe that when we moved to Santa Cruz, none of us had any kids. Something is in the water there, and it isn't sharks! What a fun New Year's Eve with a bunch of the Santa Cruz gang.

Tyler and the Bear

Tyler's favorite gift of the morning. This bear is bigger than him, but he can take him any day!

Christmas Morning at Grandma and Grandpa's house

We went to Grandma's and Grandpa's for breakfast and dinner. We gave them a rest in between. It is so fun to have them just down the street.

Happy Birthday Jake!

The cake was a big hit! Until.....they all started into it. I didn't cook it long enough, and it was a little undercooked. Oh well, it was just for the pictures anyway. How embarrassing!

He hasn't pulled off the cast yet

Tyler didn't seem to be in much pain after surgery, he plays with his hand a little bit, but he doesn't seem to mind that he can't suck on it anymore. So far so good, we will be able to see his hand in about 3 to 4 weeks (depending on what the hand therapist says......)

Tyler's Surgery

This is the end result.....not too graphic. Don't faint Uncle Kent!

He is such a trooper, he didn't complain at all the morning before he went in to have his thumb surgery. He just looked around, jabbered at everyone, and actually fell asleep right before they took him back. I am so greatful for the whole staff at Primary Children's Hospital. They were so great with us and with Tyler. We felt at ease as soon as he was in the Doctor's hands. For those who want to see the graphic pictures, the staff had our camera in the operating room, and took some amazing shots, let me know and I'll forward them to you.

These pictures are the day before his surgery.

Thanksgiving in Pine Valley with the Nobis Families

We had a great weekend with the Nobis family. From watching movies, family pictures (fun, fun), 4-wheeling (don't ride with Amy if you want to go off any jumps, go on un-even ground, or go too fast), and sleeping with lots and lots of kids in the same area (they actually slept great and went to sleep every night with out too much trouble). Thanks Mike, Ginny, Kent, Carolyn, Grandma and Grandpa Nobis and all the cousins!

I finally captured a big smile!

I had to turn the viewer on the back of the camera around so Tyler could see my face, then he smiled for me. Little drooler!

Halloween

Jonah and Nora came for a quick visit - so cute!
Here we are, ready to brave the rain (luckily it wasn't too bad, the kids got lots of treats, but the lady down the street passed out tennis balls, and that was a favorite.)

Helping Mom work

Tyler has been a great baby, he has been even coming to work with me on Fridays. So far, he lets me work when I need to, and the office doesn't mind as long as he doesn't cry too much.

Family Dinner at the Nobis House

A family that eats together stays together.....I think we got it all wrong this night.....never again!

Tyler's Blessing

We blessed Tyler on Oct. 19th - it was so wonderful having so much family there.

Dirty Work

Rachel is really good at changing diapers, Tyler doesn't seem to mind.

Little Mom

My nickname was little mom, looks like I have one of those on my hands.
